Three years after Indonesia was severely hit by the monetary crisis in 1997, the economy began to rebound with stronger growth and new opportunities opened up in the market.

The country’s leading property developer, Millennium Groups, saw market prospects in the Industrial sector, particularly in the areas west Jakarta. Despite the existence of excellent infrastructure, with first-class roads and highways, there were not many industrial zones in Tangerang, which is within an hour’s reach from western Java’s main seaports, Tanjung Priok in Jakarta and Merak in Banten, as well as from the Soekarno Hatta International airport.

Millennium Groups tasked its wholly owned subsidiary PT. Bumi Citra Permai to construct the Millennium Industrial Estate, an environmentally-friendly area located strategically in Tigaraksa, Tangerang, only 10 kilometers from the Cikupa-Tigaraksa toll gate on the outskirts of Jakarta.

Millennium Industrial Estate meets the need for an affordable industrial complex, where entrepreneurs can select from a wide range of properties and services. Novice businessmen can lease 3-in-1 warehouse, while seasoned magnates can build a complete production chain with the export processing zone, industrial plots, warehouse, and offices.

In the first phase of development, the company is developing 3-in-1 warehouse – combining warehouse, office, and residential space – industrial plots, and office-houses, as well as supporting facilities, such as electricity, gas, water and waste treatmet plants. The initial phase, whisch is spread across 45 hectares of land, is expected to be completed in 2007.

Millinnium Industrial Estate will continue to expand to cover 400 hectares of planned area in the next decade.
